The first international home of the acclaimed junior coaching resource, Small Blacks Abu Dhabi provides girls and boys between the age of 3 to 16 years the ability to learn from some of the sharpest rugby brains on the planet and develop a wide range of rugby skills as they progress through the age groups.
Small Blacks is the Official Youth Rugby Programme of New Zealand Rugby. Small Blacks Rugby has been designed to help players develop their rugby skills as their physical ability develops, making the game as simple and safe as possible for all kids, regardless of their age, shape or size.
The Small Blacks Development Model has been developed to ensure that there is a consistency of play, coaching and player welfare at all levels, and is a great way of getting kids involved in a team sport.
launched in 2022, Small Blacks Abu Dhabi with 245 boys and girls being led by 12 World Rugby-certified coaches under the direction of New Zealand-born Aaron Persico, who represented Italy 56 times and played at the 2003 Rugby World Cup.
Small Blacks Abu Dhabi will participate in regional tournaments and UAERF rugby fixtures across the season.
Children between 3 to 16 years will be able to become Small Blacks Abu Dhabi members, with no previous rugby experience needed to enroll in any age group. The programme will provide sessions for both girls and boys.
