NAS Dubai Rugby Looking Ahead To This Weeks DASSA League Finals
This term the focus of NAS Dubai (Nord Anglia International School) has been on the DC 10’s tournament taking place in early March, where their U11, U12 and U14 teams are aiming to finish the season on a high. They have also qualified for the DASSA (Dubai Affiliated Secondary Schools Sports Association) league finals which will be taking place at the Dubai Rugby Sevens stadium on Thursday 9th March (2pm-4pm).
The rugby programme at Nord Anglia gives pupils the opportunity to play rugby from Year 3 in the primary school through to the U14 in the secondary school, including boys’ and girls’ touch rugby teams. There are approximately 200 children engaged in after-school rugby training and matches and this year they are looking to compete for honours in the various competitions throughout Dubai.

As a school they have recently entered a partnership with Dubai Sports City that sees their U10, U11, U12 and U14 teams use the facilities at the Rugby Park each week for training and fixtures, as they aim to increase the range of extra-curricular opportunities that are provided to the children at NAS Dubai.
All of their contact rugby teams have been committed to training twice a week, before and after school, as they look to build on their sporting success this academic year.
