Time for more ‘digital rugby’ hype as we’re still starved of real life rugby here in the Gulf
We can officially confirm that Rugby Challenge 4, the fourth installment of (semi)popular videogame will be released in the next few weeks. Speculation is, that it will be released on the 24th July 2020 in the EU and follow soon after to the rest of the world.
Rugby fans have had a pretty tough time with a successful videogame version of our great sport. It’s been 12 years since EA Sports made their last venture in the sport with EA Rugby 08 and since then rugby fans have been waiting for a game that they can be proud of. Since then we’ve had absolute dribble where a decent version of the game has been available to play on a console.
Now we all know this game will not be a ‘gamechanger’. However, it is apparent that this game has had a lot of progress compared to previous versions. Rugby Challenge 4 is considered to be the rugby developer that has the ability to bring out some of the best graphics that we need for a decent rugby game to be made and match that of EA Sports efforts back in the 2000s.
The official Rugby Challenge Facebook page released the following statement on Friday 3rd July:
“It has been a tough few months, but the wait is nearly over. To get Rugby Challenge 4 out as soon as possible, we are planning to release in “Early Access” on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch by the end of July. More details to come before launch, so stay tuned!”
Many rugby fans are currently cooped up indoors as the global Covid-19 crisis seems to continue on. Could this be the game that we all needed to get ourselves out of this slump that we’re in?
