The Sharjah Wanderers Rugby Club was formed in 1976, when a group of engineers, who once played for the Dubai Exiles were living and working in Sharjah, got together and asked the sultan, if they could have land for a rugby pitch. A small club house was built and the Sharjah Wanderers Sports Club was established.
The Wanderers compete in the UAE Conference league and were crowned Champions of the 2015/16 UAE Rugby Season. During 2018/19, the Wanderers took time off to rebuild their team after many of their championship winning players either retired or left the country.
The club is looking forward to making a strong impact in their return to domestic rugby ahead of the 2019/20 rugby season.
